Been hit hard here in the Northeast of England with the rain. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7602110.stm Morpeth is flooded and they are using boats to evacuate the centre of the town. About 1000 homes are now being evacuated. The A1 North of Morpeth is closed and there doesn’t seem to be any roads open north of here. Still raining here and we have 7 severe flood warnings for this area at the moment.

I’m fine, took about 2 hours to travel the 7 miles home. “She who should be obeyed” is stuck in Newcastle upon Tyne, but has managed to get to a friend’s house. I want to go down into Morpeth and help but know I would just be in the way at the moment. I think we need a “civil defence force” type organisation in this country.
