For the love of the Lord...
Stepson came back today coughing and sniffling alot.
I'm just wondering what your child's early symptoms were - he doesn't feel "too" warm, but I'm wondering if we should start the Elderberry....

Start it if that's your treatment of choice - can't hurt.

Mine went from healthy to moaning in pain and burning up... it was very sudden. Coughing came later and only for 2 of the 3.
I treat everything like the flu here... Best of luck and keep us posted!!
my dd started out like a simple cold and quickly progressed from there...

My son was irritable and said he didn't feel well (couldn't pinpoint anything, just didn't feel good) about 12 hours before he got very sick.

Well as of this morning he seemed to be "symptom free". I dosed him up good last night with Vit. D & C, and of course Elderberry :)
He was coughing, clearing throat, sniffly when he went to bed - didn't notice it this morning. Think it is likely a small cold because more than 12 hours has gone by - flu usually hits quick.
Thanks for the replies though, it is good for those of us who have kids that haven't been hit yet to know what to look out for in terms of early warning signs.

The exasperating part of this is that normal cold/flu/crud season IS underway. That confuses things somewhat, especially with many early days of flu being so mild for so many.

Cough came first for us and then a day later the temperature, aches and shakes.

We started with sore chests and throats. The aches and pains came later.

My daughter started with headache and fever. It's amazing how many different early symptoms we are seeing from people on here. It really is different for everyone, and probably every area.
