View Full Version : Google's search results suck now, no question about it.

Is it me? For the past 10 months or so, I have noticed a severe reduction in the usefulness of Google's search results.

In Google's quest to give ever more "relevant" results, personalized to the searcher, the sheer serendipity and random link paths that made google such a joy to use are now over.

Google has lost it's way, and for that, I am sad.

It is you.
Google still helps me find what I am looking for, fast, efficiently, mostly on the first page of search results.

I think Google has gone one step too far in privacy invasion and there is now a huge opening for a new search engine with the successful qualities they had initially. Simple fast does the job.

Maybe the open source crowd will take up the banner. Someone will, and soon. It's a niche screaming to be filled.

Yup - I'm not a fan of 'catered to what we think you want' search results.

I've often spent fascinating periods of time chansing down random search results. I miss that.
