So...at some point does the shock go away?

DH got the 10% pay cut notice today......we are celebrating it wasn't a layoff yet.

I read this stuff and know it's true, and it just breaks my heart. I also know it is unfortunately only the beginning of a long, slow collapse.

I get my layoff on Friday, Dec. 19. Lucky me.

I'm in California but I probably don't fall under the WARN act. I'm a contract employee.

Actually, there are 1447 records on 58 pages. Ouch, nevertheless. :(

No, contract employees don't fall under WARN from what I've read....

Nope, contractors don't fall under the WARN act.

Also expect your unemployment insurance claims to be challenged as well if you are a contractor.

According to some of my HR contacts in companies that I do consulting work for, the command from on-high is to challenge temporary and contract employee unemployment claims at every opportunity.
