Don't handle them so much. Plop the dough out of the pan, flatten it with your hands into a kinda rectangular shape, then roll it up, pinch the seam and ends closed, tuck it nicely into the pan, and brush with butter or egg white.Posted 09-20-2009 at 02:48 PM by flourbug

No, it was me.
I make two loaves of bread at least three times each week and I generally do a good job but some days -- baby fussing, another one hungry, yet another needing butt wipe assistance, someone needing long division explained just one more time... And all timed to coincide exactly with my bread making. Oy. Those days, I'm just happy if the bread doesn't turn out purple.
Hmm, purple bread. I should try that and see if I can freak out the kids. No, wait, green! Like mold.
