"Mom, where's my fancy shirt we got from the dump?", my 13 year old asked me today. 
I'm thrilled to have kids who are not snobs!
Friends of our recently saw a child's rocking chair at the dump and snagged it for us. It was burned and wobbly but they saw its potential. Nellie and I have been working on it for a few days -- taking it apart, gluing, screwing, sanding, knocking of the charred parts, priming & painting, etc. It's not perfect but Nellie thinks it's the most beautiful chair in the world. I think that's pretty dang cool.
