My combination garden diary, plant list & photo page... because I've got to keep track of it all somewhere.
Damn, I'm falling behind

Lately I've been lucky to zoom out early in the morning - right after dawn & shortly before sunset to see what's going on out there. Need to get cracking on weeding, finish adding soil & recatalogue everything & roughly, when things came up & when they bloomed. Need a few more photos to remember bulb placement in the fall.
I think almost everything in there is up. I can't 'find' my Sum & Substance hosts but if memory serves me right, it was very late out of the ground last year. Only thing slower was my one balloon flower. I know I added a few more of those, they're marked... now I wait.
Need more photos too.
And things I split in very late summer already look like they'll need splitting again later this spring.
Note to self: don't EVER plant Korean Bellflower again - it's everywhere & I suspect I'll be pulling it out for 20 years. I will move some to parts of the property that need a solid groundcover though - it's tough as nails. And weedy, wild yarrow... another no-no. There's another one I'm ripping out... & creeping Jennie. Although the last one is low enough to the ground for me to live with.
More geraniums - want more of the smaller ones. My one specimen of 'Ballerina' plumped up nicely this spring. Came up double in size.

I had to look up Korean Bellflower. It looks a lot like Lily of the Valley. But lookie what I found too:

The roots are a Korean delicacy! So don't bemoan so many in your yard, get cooking!Posted 04-30-2010 at 07:49 AM by flourbug
