Economic Power: Avoid Arizona and Boycott BP

Joel S. Hirschhorn

Money is power. Each of us has it to varying degrees. Our challenge is to use our spending to advance worthy goals. Right now we see economic power being used against the state of Arizona because of the awful legislation recently passed that makes it all too easy for police there to seek proof of citizenship from virtually anyone they choose. Many groups and government entities have already cancelled...

Damn, I'm falling behind

Posted 04-29-2010 at 12:31 AM by CanadaSue (The Garrulous Gardener)

Lately I've been lucky to zoom out early in the morning - right after dawn & shortly before sunset to see what's going on out there. Need to get cracking on weeding, finish adding soil & recatalogue everything & roughly, when things came up & when they bloomed. Need a few more photos to remember bulb placement in the fall.

I think almost everything in there is up. I can't 'find' my Sum & Substance hosts but if memory serves me right, it was very late out of the...

The weather is perfect

Did well in the woods - the sweet scented violets are just starting to bloom so I was able to grab those. Some patches there are scented, others not so I appreciated the help from Mother Nature.

I also found a half dozen little clumps...

AWESOME!

Posted 04-04-2010 at 05:35 PM by CanadaSue (The Garrulous Gardener)

It's only April 4th, it's only April 4th... but oh man, things are a'happening in the garden! It turned into a cold afternoon, temperature dropped from mid-50s to high 40s with a nasty little wind but I managed to get the bulk of the 2 borders & 1 bed spring cleaned. I still need to rake up piles of leaves from around them as they're tending to blow into the garden & get caught up in the few, shortened old stalks I've left up to 'place mark plants. Mulch had blown over my stepping stones...
