There is no agreed upon definition of a Hispanic. Is it someone that speaks spanish? No, there are lots of people that are considered H that don't speak Spanish. Maybe if one of your great grandmothers spoke Spanish you can be a H. Do you have to have a Virgin Mary altar in the house to be a H? Do you have to act culturally like someone from a spanish speaking country? No, that would mean all of San Antonio would be H. Do you have to have a certain pantone shade of brown skin? No, there are "hispanics" in San Antonio that look like Germans . . . and that is because there were a lot of Germans that settled the area too.

And that is the point. We are all mutts and can self identify with any culture club we want. Want to be a H, then just say so. Who can dispute it?
