Reclusive Matrix Director Steps Out in Los Angeles

Larry Wachowski -- the reclusive co-creator of the Matrix - recently made a rare public appearance.


Wachowski, 43, was spotted departing LAX Airport in L.A. on April 17.


Wachowski has fascinated the Hollywood crowd for years.
After the release of 2003's Matrix Reloaded -- which he co-directed with his brother Andy -- word spread that Larry had been making public appearances dressed as a woman and using the name "Lana."


In 2006, the San Francisco Chronicle even reported that Larry "has changed his sex and is now living as Lana Wachowski."


But Joel Silver - producer of several Wachowski films - denied the report.
"It's all untrue," he told Fox News in 2007. "They just don’t do interviews, so people make things up."
