If you click on the 'float' tab, it removes the chatbox to a seperate window. If you close that seperate window, it is not restored to the main page. I guess it is still a little buggy.

I see the chatbox but cannot post, there seems to be no option to join.
The previous chatbox was better and bigger and looked nicer.

Bring back the previous chatbox now please.
Change is not always better, and the change in the chatbox is definitely one we cannot believe in !

It is 'under construction' at the moment, and not working. I doubt what you see is the final 'skin'. Wait until it is done, and then judge it.

Wow! I guess I really liked the chat box. I just logged in, it's not there, and I feel like I do when my computer or internet quits.

LOL... okay, I guess you all DO like the chatbox.
It is under construction.
The first one was very buggy. So late last night Jason pulled out an older one that is different and relatively bug free - but lacks some of the features of the buggy chat. (Following me so far?) Now he needs to code in the things we all liked about the other chat.
He's still asleep but I promise he'll get on it as soon as he's out of the shower this morning.

well, while you're tweeking, here's one... the "Dot"
How it works
The Global Consciousness Project collects random numbers from around the world. These numbers are available on the GCP website. This website downloads those numbers once a minute and performs sophisticated analysis on these random numbers to see how coherent they are. That is, how probable it is that the numbers are generated as they are. The theory is that the Global Consciousness of all the people of the world affect these random numbers... Maybe they aren't quite as random as we thought.
The probability time window is one hour. For more information on the algorithm you can read about it on the GCP Basic Science page

FB & Jason -- I was worried that DH and I were weird because we communicate by IM so much, even when we're in the same house on different floors.
Let me just say that you have laid all my fears to rest.

That sounds perfectly normal to me!
