Default Fishing the Eastern Sierra's

We spent last week camping on Bishop Creek in the Eastern Sierra's. At the same time last year we were snowed on but this year the weather was perfect. Warm days and cool nights just right for sitting around the campfire and making smores...which we did! The fishing was good, too, and although I don't fish, my DH does and he really enjoyed himself on this trip.

Here are a few photos of him bringing in trout he caught using flies he tied. He ties flies all winter in anticipation of fishing season.

Our DD and family joined us for a few days and our grandson caught a big stinger of Alper trout in the private pond at the campground. They stock it once a week with some very nice fish, a great way to "hook" a kid into the fun of fishing. He did his grampa proud!

We've been coming to this campground for over 30 years and little has changed except we've upgraded our camping equipment to a motorhome.

Here's the view from our campsite. The aspen were just beginning to leaf out.

I hope the next 30 years brings little change to this area so generations to come can enjoy the natural beauty.

Thanks for the fish.
I couldn't resist.
Thanks for the pictures. That boy is proud, and so he should be. Yes, a fisherman is created. He probably will be tying ties along with Granddad this coming winter.
