Good for her.
I fail to see why Canadian taxpayers should fund abortions for third world countries. We give enough as it is. Maybe they should take advantage of other forms of birth control...like prison for rapists and the pill. Hell, even condoms.

Why are we funding ANY healthcare for other countries?! Our healthcare system is a joke...anyway, either pay for *all* of the healthcare needs of women, including terminating pregnancies...or pay nothing.
I contend, if men were the ones who got knocked up, abortions would be available at drive-throughs, 24/7...

We're facing an imminent health care crunch. Our economy may not be doing as poorly as those of other nations but it's not in great shape. The perfect economic storm, especially with OUR looming housing bubble & an aging, unhealthy population means we CANNOT afford the level of foreign aid we're providing - including abortions.

In a few months, won't be my problem anymore lol. I'll be moving to the other country with economic problems.

DH and I were talking last night, as he hadn't heard about this, but the news came on right after the hockey game. I've come to the conclusion that these feminist activist groups that receive government funding need to go. They have served their purpose, women, IMHO, are treated equal to, if not better, than men in this country. We have the same legal standing, are covered under the same labour laws, etc. And besides, are we publicly funding any men's groups?
