"I Cant Afford to Work"

I just wanted to comment.

I recently hired a person. I have known him for around 10 years. He is a good person, very intelligent, and I personally know him to be a very hard worker.

I would say we are friends - but I really only know him somewhat socially. What I mean is that I have known him long enough, and well enough to form a good opinion about him.

One of the places I work at desperatly needed a good worker - he is the only person on the list. He was on the list for a couple of months. Thuresday, I pulled the trigger.

I brought him in for a "meet and greet", and was given immediate approval to make him an offer. He would have had to have been dead not to have gotten the job.

That night, I started to feel bad It struck me that he might have been making more off of unemployment then I was offering! Further, My job offer might have put his unemployment income at risk if the job I offered could not be made pernament.

He has not worked in a year and was making about $300 a week off of unemployment. He did not have to work since his wife was doing pretty well. I thought I was doing him a good deed by offering him a job for a couple days a week at $10.00 per hour (20 hours).

I realized that a lot of people do not need jobs, dont want jobs, dont want to work, and are not really employable. Why in the F*CK would a sane person work when he(she) can take a year or so off and sit on your F*ng ASS.

I apoligize. I dont have a problem helping a guy (woman) out when the chips are down(whatever). But, NOT A FRIGGEN YEAR!!!!!!!!!!! Get a friggen job! Do a little volenteer work while your getting that years worth of free money.

I told my wife last week that I wanted to take the year off and relax on the Goverments dime. I WANTED MY 'BAMA BUCKS!

Why Are We Paying People NOT TO WORK!!!!!!!

And now the rest of the story.....

My friend's benifits ran out a couple of days ago. GUESS WHAT???

He wants to "transition" back into a work enviroment!!!!!!!!!!!

I need to stop my rant.
