So the justice of the Sharia court is beating a 14-year old rape victim to death with a bamboo cane. Freakin' savages. And typical of BBC News, the word 'Muslim' does not appear anywhere in the article.

We at least have ours to the point where they are not beating children to death, killing their daughters, strapping on suicide bombs, stabbing people to death for 'disrespecting Islam', and etcetera. If Islamists were only engaging in hate speech, like the Phelps crazies, I think we could all live with that.

Sorry, I have no problem with any faith that confines itself with worshiping their god, and bettering themselves through their faith. I'm throughly atheist, but recognize that many people gain strength and enlightenment through their faith, and I am happy for them. Personally, I don't need the crutch. But I have no tolerance for any person who uses their faith to rationalize destructive behavior.

Not at all. I have no need for "religion", but recognize other find strength from it. Whats the problem with that. I'm not going to denigrate people for practicing their religion (in a sane and peaceful manner). A guy that collects womens panties is considered a pervert, but a guy that collects postage stamps is considered OK. They both are doing the same thing, just different objects. Who am I to judge?

I believe you just did.And just FYI Infering or aligning someone who has a particular faith based religion or other wise as 'needing a crutch' is being judgemental.The initial reason I challenged your comments was that you inserted a disclaimer for any "really peace loving Muslims" but not the Christians in your analogy. I felt that it came across as one sided politically correct pandering ,so I injected my 2 cents. I won't even delve into the 'panties and postage stamp' thing. Have a good one.
