People being inconvenienced should also not detract from the fact that Oscar Grant was unarmed, face down with a knee on the back of his neck, when the officer drew his weapon and shot him in the back. Let us not forget that the officers in question also tried to confiscate all evidence of their misdeeds.
Mehserle, the cop, was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter. He has already been released as of June 13th. That is what California considers to be justice for a murderer if the killer is a government agent.
For this action people have a "right" to be upset and should justice fail to remedy the situation. I dare say it did indeed fail to provide justice in this case. If you or I pinned a cop down on the ground and shot him in the back....we would have a quick trip to the executioner. This guy got a slap on the wrist. I am surprised that the Bay Area wasn't burnt to the ground.
