I mostly play rhythms from Guinea by way of Mamady Keita and some rhythms from Mali too.
I'm good at traditional set rhythms, not so good at freestyle

Great vid! I'm a big fan of Keita too... No, I've never seen any of the greats in person, except for Arthur Hull...not quite the same.
I'm not good at freestyle either...I do best with bass and bell parts, but I still love the djembe and other drums. I like playing specific African rhythms, like Yankadi or Moribiassa or Kakilambe etc. I have to work at drumming...it doesn't just flow like it does for a lot of folk...
Nice to see another drummer on this forum!
Now, for my Happy, Uplifting vid...

Can the blues make you feel happy and uplifted? I think so...how about some Howlin' Wolf from the olden days?
---------- Post added at 06:55 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:51 PM ----------
Ok, this one is not your typical "feel good" type of song...but I promise you will be smiling and rockin' out to this one...it's fantastically "evil"!!

Can a song called "Crying" make you smile, or feel happy?
Tears are very healing. Maharishi Mahesh Yogi said "For every tear you shed, you work off 1000 years of Karma"!!!!!!
Who doesn't love Roy Orbison? Come on....
