Sorry, it is a bad habit of mine to leave out words I think are extraneous. I meant: Roosevelt Grier, of Sirhan Sirhan fame.
Roosevelt Grier was a former NY Giants defensive linebacker and friend of Robert Kennedy. He was hired to guard Ethel Kennedy during Bobby's campaign for President. When Sirhan Sirhan shot Robert Kennedy, Roosevelt Grier tackled Sirhan and took the gun away from him. I did not live in California. Roosevelt Grier's family, not Sirhan Sirhan, lived near my childhood home in NJ.
