Group of college students wants to ban leaf blowers in Palm Beach County

As with most issues, there are two sides, and the real reason is masked by the politically correct reason. Public reason: pollution. Real reason: wakes them up at 11 AM and can't hear their music for 30 seconds.

I have one of those suckers, it's electric, and it's damned loud. Most times I opt for a broom on the patio and a rake in the grass. I do use it in the front where everyone else's leaves collect in my plants. I don't have any deciduous trees on my property except a burning bush. I just leave those leaves, they are so small.

I wish they would prohibit their use before 8 a.m. where I am at.
My neighbors yard crew generally wakes me up between 7 and 7:30 every weekend.

Most cities have noise ordinances on the books that prohibit that sort of thing that early. Have you checked? If there is, you can send him and his landscaping maintenance service a friendly 'cease and desist' letter. Me, I just rented a place where my neighbors not close enough to bug me unless they are running a chainsaw or something.

Wow! City life is very different (Greta scratches her head). I can honestly say I have never had a neighbor that bothered me with a leaf blower; but then again, I don't have any close neighbors.

I neighbor's house is but a driveways width away. I generally like to sleep in on the weekends, but haven't done so in years at this point.

Leaf blowers cause pollution? I thought leaves were natural and organic, not to mention biodegradable....
