The following image shows a Russian church leader wearing
a $30,000 watch .
He has already been the target of widespread criticism after publicly
endorsing incoming president Vladimir Putin in last month's election,
calling his 12 years in power a "miracle of God."
Embarrassment caused him to subsequently lie about ownership of said
watch and his PR people not only lied about it but also modified the photo
to show no watch at all .
Sadly they omitted to remove its reflected image from the table top .
It is unclear whether the expensive watch was given to him as
a gift by ruling politicians .
Which raises a lot of interesting questions .
# What if any services did he perform to earn such a gift ?
# Is it the only 'gift' he has earned ?
# Is it common for church leaders in your country to be personally
rewarded by politicians with material benefits and why ?
# Should he have disposed of the gift and how ?
# If you had been a donor to that church would you ever give them
money again ?
# Do you believe church leaders in your country are influenced financially
or controlled by a powerful political group or political leader.
