Surprisingly, a lot of departments do have "foam" on the truck.
Foam isn't "foam" per se but what they call "A Triple F" (AFFF or Aqueous Film Forming Foam).
It comes in 5 gallon buckets. There is a suction pickup tube between the pump nozzle and the hose. It is metered so it gets the right amount.
My guess they didn't waste time with AFFF because of the cost and it is used to flood over flammables liquids to keep it from reigniting. Not much chance here.
It is unspoken, but on car fires (unless if is very small) departments let them go until they are real toasty. Too many times insurance companies try to repair cars with fires in engine compartments. Anyone who has ever worked on cars knows if it has had a fire in the engine compartment, they are nothing but trouble after that.
