US living standards worldwide would need 4 Earths. Sadly the dutch living standard is similar to that.

People aren't going to cut their standard of living. That is a delusional eco-fantasy.

They won't until they're forced but at some point this will happen.

I'm not sure how asteroid mining would help since the squeeze will be in food and fuel not precious minerals.
