We're going into Hurricane Season with the nations gasoline inventories at levels well below avg.. If the gulf coast refineries get hit this summer we'll see gas prices Spike like we saw in 2005 after Katrina.. Not a wise move for any incumbent potus in an election year.. Obama should at least get the gasoline inventories back Up above the 5yr avg levels or higher..
oh, I forgot about Iran. Mr. President, fill those tanks!

West Coast Gasoline Markets: Price Relief Should be Coming Soon
While the price for gasoline this year has remained below $4 per gallon for most of the country, prices on the West Coast (PADD 5) have been holding above that level since late February. Since the national average price for regular gasoline peaked this year at $3.94 per gallon on April 2, prices across the country generally have been trending downward on the back of decreasing crude oil prices, with the national average falling to $3.71 per gallon on May 21. In contrast, the average West Coast retail gasoline price remained at $4.24 per gallon on May 21, only two cents below its 2012 peak from a week earlier (Figure 1). While refinery issues have hit the West Coast particularly hard over the past few months, the imminent return of BP's Cherry Point, Washington refinery should bring lower prices to gasoline consumers in the region.

Don't forget to read the caveat in the final paragraph of the article:
..." AAA, a trusted source for gas price information, is warning they are not getting the same information gasbuddy.com is reporting. In fact, they expect prices to stay steady or even drop slightly over the weekend."

(Ducking my head) I paid $3.07 today in New Braunfels, Tx. We have a bit of a gas war going on with the opening of a highway gas/everything else store.

I have no clue about refined products especially in your area but I
have just be reading that the Diffusion index suggests crude ( WTI )
will rise soon and that smart money is starting to accumulate crude .

$3.79 on Sunday and that was not the cheapest place. I'm sure if I drove 25 miles I could get it at least 10 cents cheaper, but I didn't want to drive that far for gas. Maybe when this tankfull is finished.
