Well, it turned out just fine. Good enough that I'll be having it again today and probably tomorrow.

I had strawberries for dinner because I fell asleep before lunch. In a while I'm going to have smoked pulled pork. The local grocery store is sell it for a short time and since DH won't eat it I can buy it in small quantities.

Tonight I had some of the pulled pork on a hotdog bun and for desert I had a few thin slices of Coombe Castle Sticky Toffee cheese. I didn't have any sweet crackers or thin cookies so I got out one of the waffle bowls I got DH for his ice cream. It was a good combo. The cheese tastes a bit like a toffee bar that's mushy.

I did see that they carry the Tillamook brand cheese and one of them looks like the cheese Mom liked that she called rat trap cheese. It's a mild cheddar that is a bit soft so it didn't break off of the rat trap. They lived down the road from a chicken processing place back in the late 30's early 40's.

Homegrown, never seen a freezer fried chicken for dinner tonight! Sides of red potatoes with butter and cream and fresh cucumbers and onions in a nice vinegarette. Oh my, OH MY!

Had a strawberry salsa making demo at the community center. What a lot of effort that isn't needed. The first was a dismal bust, the second laced with orange juice pleased everyone. I don't bother, I slice my strawberries, put a bit of honey sugar on them, and simple as that is add it to greek yoghurt of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Yesterday went to the Grain bar, and ate Quinona, various beans, pecans, cashews, basmati rice and a few other bits of this or that for a satisfying dinner.

Looking forward to the minestroni at the center tomorrow. We all look forward to their soups. Even if you don't care for the entre, the 1.50 is little enough for their excellent soups. A bit like being a student, but healthier eating.

I'm fixing Delmonico steaks tonight. I love finding these things on sale.
