A nice little documentary about grind core. Apparently they use being signed by Earache as the criterion but it's not quite right.
01. Napalm Death - If The Truth Be Known/Suffer The Children
True grindcore. I allways think that any real grindcore is ENT offspring.
02. Morbid Angel - Immortal Rites
No grindcore, death metal but great.
03. Nocturnus - Lake of Fire
Metal too. Always loved their sound with keyboards & the futuristic themes.
04. Paradise Lost - Dead Emotion
No grindcore either. Check out the Lost Paradise album. The first song is so like carcass but then it becomes something else, culinating in Gothic.
05. Prophecy of Doom - Rage Against Time
Grindcore? These punks had been around for ages. They are from an older generation. They shared their album with Axegrinder which is even more old school. Sort of think they are all more related to earlier music
06. Godflesh - Christ Bait Rising
This is fun. They were never grindcore but always went well in the mix. They were very loud.
07. Cerebral Fix - Unity For Who/Enter The Turmoil
Not like grind core either, they sound surprisingly much like trash metal. Still love the song.
08. Sonic Violence - Manic
The interview is really cute. More industrial stuff like Controlled Bleeding Above.
09. Bolt Thrower - Cenotaph
Not grindcore because it's metal. There's a fun interview where theirproducer complains about them having only four beats. They do milk it too the hilt. Me i love it.
10. Vengeance Rising - Before The Time
Also much more old school metal. Hadn't ever heard of them before i saw the youtube.
11. Entombed - Left Hand Path
Death metal not grind core but it's grand. Love the way they recorded their guitars.
12. Carcass - Reek of Putrefaction
Total originals. The sleeves were horrible but they also pushed some sonic envelopes.

Extreme Noise Terror ~ Another nail in the coffin
