Default Genetic role in opiate side effects

Genetics play a significant role in determining which patients will suffer the most from the disturbing side effects of opiates, commonly prescribed painkillers for severe to moderate pain, according to a new Stanford University School of Medicine study, which pinpoints nausea, slowed breathing and potential for addiction as heritable traits.

I wish they had expanded a bit more on what constitutes "drug liking/disliking." "Liking" as an emotional reaction, similar to "I like apple pie"? Or "liking" as some sort of physiological effect? Do I "like" hydrocodone (have a good response to it with no distressing side effects) and "dislike" oxycodone (hallucinogenic nightmares -- I stayed awake for 36 hours straight to avoid a repetition, until I was sure that it was out of my system)?
