Elton John, his early works, are classics that never fail to make me happy.

Tiny Dancer as the soundtrack to a tribute video to the film "Almost Famous"

Mona Lisa and Mad Hatters ... as a another tribute video to the film "Almost Famous"

Pinky, from the album 'Caribou'. Not one of his biggest selling album, but it did contain this tender song.

'Friends' .. the whole album. Obscure film, but beautiful

Great album: Don't SHoot Me I'm The Piano Player ..... Blues for baby and me

Levon

Great album!!

Burn down the mission

Amoreena

My all time favorite from that album

Come Down In Time

In the quiet silent seconds I turned off the light switch
And I came down to meet you in the half light the moon left
While a cluster of night jars sang some songs out of tune
A mantle of bright light shone down from a room

Come down in time I still hear her say
So clear in my ear like it was today
Come down in time was the message she gave
Come down in time and I'll meet you half way

Well I don't know if I should have heard her as yet
But a true love like hers is a hard love to get
And I've walked most all the way and I ain't heard her call
And I'm getting to thinking if she's coming at all

Come down in time I still hear her say
So clear in my ear like it was today
Come down in time was the message she gave
Come down in time and I'll meet you half way

There are women and women and some hold you tight
While some leave you counting the stars in the night

No more getting up again. The song is great. There's a lovely alternative version on page 16.

Lacking any talent of measure, I enjoy those who can create beauty in any form.

This fellow is truly one of those people, his music is sublime. Close your eye and let it paint pictures in your mind.

Some interesting playing. I like the piece were he's playing piano & guitar. You'll never see me doing that.

Different guitar sounds by Thin White Rope. I really like how their guitars work together.

They also covered This Velvet Morning, originally sung by Nancy Sinatra:

There is a cut in the video but it gives a nice impression.

Much cleaner album version from Spoon:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=Nco5WUb3_YQ

Other Some Velvet Morning versions:

Lydia Lunch & Rowland Howard

Primal Scream with Kate Moss:

Lee Hazlewood & Nancy Sinatra (aka the original):

Her harlequin hovers nearby
Awaiting a word
Gasping at glimpses
Of gentle true spirit
He runs, wishing he could fly
Only to trip at the sound of good-bye

Wordlessly watching
He waits by the window
And wonders
At the empty place inside
Heartlessly helping himself to her bad dreams
He worries
Did he hear a good-bye? Or even hello?

They are one person
They are two alone
They are three together
They are for each other

Stand by the stairway
You'll see something
Certain to tell you confusion has its cost
Love isn't lying
It's loose in a lady who lingers
Saying she is lost
And choking on hello

They are one person

More than 40 years since Woodstock.

Never was anything like it before, can never be anything close to it, ever again. Altamont was the first crack in the illusion of peaceful unity through music (OK so the H.A.'s didn't help much with that) ........ And the Woodstock that was, was far, far from what had been envisioned .... But what a incredible, wild, beautiful (albeit messy and muddy) living dream it was ......

Even Isle of Wight has changed much over the years I would assume, from the halcyon concerts with the Moody Blues and such ......
