Default "A Little Good News Today"

We have several regular threads in several of the forums. The Dungeon has the Monthly Complaints thread where we discuss & gripe about everything from a driver who cut us off to tough family situations. The economic & political forums, as well as the flu forum have ongoing specific subject threads.

I'm going to claim Executive Privilege & start one here in Op/Ed called as above: 'A Little Good News Today'.

Two reasons - some really NICE & sweet stories don't easily fit into hard news or anywhere else. Why not in an ongoing thread? Secondly, some days the news just seems horrendous no matter where you look. I thought it would be nice to have ONE consistant thread where we could bathe in kindness, thoughtfulness & flat out peoples' consideration for other people. There are days where we could all use a dose of that.

So that's the only 'rule' for this thread. Post nice stuff - good deeds, happy news - big or small.

I'll start with a genuinely sweet story I found that makes a lie of the common perception tat all young teens are raving, throughtless snots.

Looks like this one will have a good ending:

Thumbs up Been Following This One a While...

***High Park’s Jamie Bell Playground rebuild goes down to the wire***

Yup, Mike Holmes from 'Holmes on Homes' & 'Holmes INspection' is leading this effort. The park was lost to arson in the spring to the dismay of many. Itr was a well used & much loved playground & knowing the work Holmes does - it should be absolutely breathtaking by the time they finish. His creew will work all day & night tomrrow to make the deadline if they have to - that's the kind of people they are. Dying to see that episode of his show:

I like Mike Holmes, he has done so many things for the people he fixes problems for. He always goes above and beyond what most would do.

A little good news is always welcome. Here's a story of some good news coming out of the wildfires in Utah.

Default Chivalrous Quebec knight making stops in Saskatchewan

This is a neat & whimsical quest. I sincerely hope he's providing help with chores & such as a basic 'thank you' for the abundant hospitality he's enjoying:

Default Nova Scotia receives 60 puppies from Labrador

http://www.cbc.ca/news/offbeat/story...or-rescue.html

FedEx donates donates a plane, staff volunteer their time. 60 puppies that had to be evacuated from burned or evacuated shelters & foster homes get new ones & in some cases, are being adopted.

Win-win-win.

I loves me a cute puppy, feel good story.
