Disability Climbs Faster Than Jobs
June: 80,000 new jobs, 85,000 new SSI enrollees.
Since June 2009, 2.1 million new jobs, 3.1 million signed up for disability benefits.

Once you have a disability and it's visable, they will interview you but not hire you. They just see you as a drain on the insurance. It's also hard to get someone to hire you if you are over 40 and look it.

And for many who have worked for decades only to lose the pension they had been working for, been laid off, are not able to find new employment, have used up UE benefits and still can't find work even by working multiple part time jobs; they might view SSD as their last and only viable option.
