Default Rice Emerges As Front Runner For VP Pick

This will make things very difficult for The One (IMO).

ROMNEY NARROWS VP CHOICES; CONDI EMERGES AS FRONTRUNNER
Thu Jul 12 2012 19:30:01 ET

**Exclusive**

Late Thursday evening, Mitt Romney's presidential campaign launched a new fundraising drive, 'Meet The VP' -- just as Romney himself has narrowed the field of candidates to a handful, sources reveal.

And a surprise name is now near the top of the list: Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice!

The timing of the announcement is now set for 'coming weeks'.

MORE

It was Condi who received two standing ovations at Romney's Utah retreat a few weeks ago, and everyone left with her name on their lips.

Rice made an extended argument for American leadership in the world.

In recent days, she emailed supporters:

"2012 is perhaps a turning point for the United States."

"The upcoming elections loom as one of the most important in my lifetime," she warned. "I'm very often asked to speak about our current foreign policy and the challenges that lie before us. However, we, as a country, are not going to be able to address any of those international challenges unless we first get our domestic house in order."

Didn't she come out just a week ago and say she wasn't interested?

Condi for Veep would throw the Racebaiter/War on Women folk into a tizzy.

Condi's major weakness is the Iraq war and her support for the invasion. That aspect alone could potentially counter the benefit of having a best-of-class black woman as a running mate.

I think Romney should be Condi's running mate.

Wait a minute... no, I don't. She should pick someone better.

The ensuing hilarity will be fun to watch.

I do expect NOW to come out with a ringing endorsement as soon as it becomes official (assuming it does). /sarc

She does have baggage as Antropologo mentioned plus she's never been elected to any kind of office. However, it would be fun watching her make dog food out of Biden in a debate.

He could do much worse. Its a shame she has to carry Bush's baggage. She is an exceptional woman.

Rice will not be the V.P. candidate. Though, it is advantageous to have her on "the list" along with a dozen or so other favorite sons and daughters. It is not a coincident that this story appears in the same week of Romney's speech at the NAACP convention. Politics 101.

I would enjoy watching that but I think now, as I did last election, she would make a great President/Vice President.

21 out of 50 Democratic Senators voted against the Iraq war resolution.

Joe Biden was NOT one of them.

Just her Foreign Relations experience alone should earn her some post in a Romney WH, even if not as veep. If she is even interested.

Rightly or wrongly, she represents the neocon philosophy and will kill any chance of Romney taking the election.

IIRC, Rubio isn't eligible anyways... born in Cuba...

Rubio's parents were born in Cuba. He was born in the US. His parents were not naturalized as citizens for years after his birth. Thus, from my understanding of NBC, he is not eligible. But for that reason alone I believe he is an attractive candidate for globalists who have decided there's a whole list of laws they can simply ignore because they do not suit their agenda.

Good points!! And the current POTUS has already set the precedent that records can be altered, sealed and otherwise obfuscated at whim even if it contradicts both the letter and spirit of the law and Constitution.

We certainly do live in interesting times
