No one is going to win by a landslide. This is going to be very close to the finish. Trench warfare fought precinct by precinct in states like PA, NC, OH and FL. Romney does not really bring the conservative wing of the Republican Party out, plus all those states have substantial black populations. On the other hand, Obama has lost a lot of support from liberal wing of his party.

Romney has been outraising Obama for the past couple of months. I think he'll do well enough financially. It's the hard core conservatives that he might have problems with.

I don't think either candidate will lose due to lack of funds. It will be a question of getting out the vote, and either could be hurt badly if too many of their party members sit it out.

I'm not sure if it has been covered here, but the "you didn't build that" rant has seriously pissed off a lot of people. Being the step-son of a man who owns three small businesses, I can attest to the fact that he did in fact build that, he did work harder, sacraficed his time, worked ridiculous hours, risked his capital...something our current leader wouldn't know much about.

The quote was taken out of context, but even then it is ludicrous.
Obama was playing off of Sagan's Apple Pie. What do you need to make an apple pie? Some would say flour, butter, sugar, and apples. But you have to make the wheat and cane and apples and a cow to provide the cream to make the butter and they all need soil and sun and rain and so you have to make all those things too... so what does it take to make an apple pie from scratch? First, you have to create the Universe.
Obama was pointing out that the country's infrastructure is what allows businesses to succeed.
He apparently doesn't know his history very well. In the early days of the country, entrepreneurs would cart goods out into the wilderness to sell to settlers. The country stores supported pioneers as they moved west from the Atlantic. The businesses hired people to build the roads... improving on horsepaths and cart trails, corderoy roads, and canals to move goods by boat. The country's infrastructure has grown because of the personal investment and taxes paid by those businesses, and the growth they made possible.
Obama DESERVES to be ripped on this one.

I don't think it was taken out of context. I think he really believes this:

I’m always struck by people who think, well, it must be because I was just so smart. There are a lot of smart people out there. It must be because I worked harder than everybody else. Let me tell you something -- there are a whole bunch of hardworking people out there.

Starting and succeeding at your own business takes intelligence, hours and hours of hard work, and a ton of risk. He poo-poos two of those things here, and doesn’t even mention the third.
Using your apple pie example, those farmers didn’t “help” the baker make anything. They sold a raw material to someone who used their unique skills to turn it into something incredible. The underlying message here is that the baker somehow owes the famer more than credit, but a piece of the pie or a cut on any profit made from selling it. Sorry that already happened when the baker bought those materials.
Also, to rant on a tangent, I’m sick of waiters/waitresses/store salespeople/ etc telling they are going to be “helping me out today”. You are not helping me, you are being paid to serve or conduct my transaction.
