Default I think we saw a meteor (close!) tonight

The youngest and I were on our way back home tonight. Suddenly, a huge green ball of light (with a reddish "tail") comes zipping past us, overhead, from behind. It went into the trees just off the road, behind Bubba's BBQ, as I was passing it and it went out of my view. Nellie quickly plugged her nose and complained of a "stinky smell". (I have a cold so can't smell a thing right now.)

I was just coming here to post this and ask what it was, then saw the other meteor thread below. I watched the video and ours was similar but much, much closer -- just several yards off the road. Wild!!
