Ugh, I forgot about the water mains. Ours break at the slightest provocation (50 year old, post-war suburb and they used the cheap stuff even back then), not to mention sub-zero bumping and grinding. Guess I'd better bring in a case of water from the garage just in case.

This system moved into NH last night. Woke up to -14F and a light wind. I bundled up and took a nice long walk through the woods. There's about a foot of snow pack. I didn't use snowshoes, just some traction devices.

It's up to +7F at the moment.

Tonight is supposed to be colder but the temp should moderate during the day and into the weekend.

Holy crap, it's cold. Weather.com says it's -14F, with a wind chill of -35F. That's -26C for you Canadians.....and you can take your damn airmass back anytime now.

Take heart, DG. At 9am our temp was -29C. It's now -16C, at 10:34 pm. And snowing. Let the thaw begin!

Thank god.

Wear the dog?

Well, my excitement last night was short-lived. It may have warmed to -16C last night at 10, but it's now 6:20am, and it's -29C. Holy freakin' Hannah, I'm ready to go postal.

well, 22F with a 10mph wind may not seem bad to some of you northerners....but this is Florida! Land of Sunshine! More affectionately known as The Bikini State!

we ain't used to this crap...

I know, Ren. The one time I was in Florida (fourth grade), we had cold weather in February. While my brother and I were in shorts, the kids next door (locals) were in winter coats, hats and mitts. No lie. We didn't have much beach time, and went home a week early.
