Default Hancock Fabric going out of business

Got an email this morning that Hancock Fabrics is going out of business. That's the closest fabric store to me, where I usually go to get stuff I need right now. Now it's just Jo-Ann and Walmart.

is right.

Always preferred Hancock to JoAnn's or Walmart for variety and quality of fabrics..... Only a JoAnn's and Walmart where we live now and the Walmart stock is limited.

That's where I get my fleece so I'll have to go buy Livi's and Lily's soon.

They seem to be going out in phases. The one here closed a few years ago and now they are closing the one near my mom's house. I hate seeing them go.

There used to be 2 Hancock's in Chattanooga. I'm not sure if either is still open.

But I'm lucky that I have several good Hobby Lobby stores within reasonable distance. Their selection of fabric and accessories is actually better than Hancock's ever was.

Who needs a Hancock store anymore? Seriously.

Most people don't sew anymore and those that do have whole drawers, closets, rooms stuffed with fabrics for project they will "get to".

Worse than people who knit and their skeins of yarn!

Same here, fb.

Walmart stores in this part of the world do not have and haven't had fabric for years now.

Nearest JoAnn's is about 80 miles away. I can and do order online, but I really hate buying fabric that I can't feel. I've gathered a box of "orphan" fabrics that way - thought I was buying one thing only to have something else, entirely unsuitable, turn up.
