We start them young here.

I'll get his file when he's 9; it's a long process to see if he's made of sturdy enough stuff to hold any responsability in the short chain of command involving the strategic stash of you know what.

Default Little-known rule disqualifies woman's Roll-Up-the-Rim prize

Quote:
Winning rim tabs contain a description of the prize and an eight-digit pin code. The code is on the opposite side of the rim from the roll-up area.

The rules say winners of the $100 gift card can enter the code online to get their prize, while to redeem prizes by mail the entire tab must be turned in.
I did not know this - not that I've ever won more that a free coffee or a doughnut

Default Chaos as Walmart shoppers swarm armed robber in Hamilton

***Customers swarmed an armed robber at an east Mountain Walmart Tuesday night, in a chaotic scene that saw two cashiers jabbed with a mock gun.

Police say the suspect went into the box store at 2190 Rymal Road E., just west of Highway 20, a few minutes after 8 p.m.

Pulling a fake handgun out of his sock, he walked up to a cashier, police say.

“He pressed the imitation gun to her side, told her to open the cash register,” said Staff Sgt. Gary Thompson.

According to witnesses, he screamed at her several times to hand over the cash. Police say the shaken employee could not open the register fast enough.

The suspect then moved to another employee and began yelling at him to open his register while shoving the gun into his back. The staffer panicked as well and fumbled to open the drawer.

Scared customers scrambled in all directions, police said, just as the employee got the register to open.

“Then they swarmed him,” Thompson said...***

Question What is it About Quebeckers & Chainsaws, Lately?

***Another chainsaw-wielding man arrested in Quebec

For the second time in a week in Quebec, police were called after someone was threatened by a man brandishing a chainsaw.

The latest incident happened Thursday at around 4 p.m. ET in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, about 60 kilometres west of Montreal.

Police said a man and a woman went to a home on Ellice Street to meet with another man.

Sgt. Joyce Kemp of Quebec provincial police said the subject of the meeting is still under investigation.

When an argument broke out, the young man picked up a chainsaw and allegedly used it to intimidate the visitors.

A 28-year-old man was arrested. He's expected to appear in court today.

Earlier this week, another man was charged with armed assault after he brandished a chainsaw at a family during an alleged road-rage incident.

Manuel Delisle, who has been suspended from his job as pruner for the Montreal borough of Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce, pleaded not guilty and is scheduled to return to court in July...***

BANK OF CANADA URGES ‘STAR TREK’ FANS TO STOP ‘SPOCKING’ THEIR FIVERS

Bank of Canada is pleading with Star Trek fans to stop “Spocking” its five dollar bills. Since Leonard Nimoy’s death, Canadian folks have been “Spocking” the hell out of the five dollar bill that features a portrait of Canada’s seventh prime minister Sir Wilfrid Laurier.

Sir Wilfrid now sports, on certain bills at least, pointy ears, the signature Vulcan haircut and eyebrows and Spock’s mantra “Live long and prosper.”

According to Bank of Canada it’s not illegal to do this but:

“...However, there are important reasons why it should not be done. Writing on a bank note may interfere with the security features and reduces its lifespan. Markings on a note may also prevent it from being accepted in a transaction. Furthermore, the Bank of Canada feels that writing and markings on bank notes are inappropriate as they are a symbol of our country and a source of national pride.”

I say Spock the hell out of ‘em if it ain’t illegal. Sir Wilfrid Laurier’s face wasn’t that interesting, anyway. In fact, let’s just make this a permanent improvement to the Canadian five dollar bill.
