No thanks. Anything that renders by lethal option even temporarily ineffective for its intended purpose is out. Further, given that such a weapon would likely be used under stress, there are huge potential risks in having such an impact weapon delivered with a firearm from which the follow on shot will be a potentially lethal round. Plus it's yet another thing to carry, with some bulk to it. We already carry lots of stuff. For the rare instance where an extended range impact weapon is needed, there are ways to keep them reasonably promptly available. This is a gimmicky invention seeking a problem.
Just issue more cops with tasers and appropriate training for same.
