Default The USA government hit list .

Please tell me this is BS , otherwise I may have to
throw out the window all prior assessment of
what your country stands for and who is in control.

I am now wondering if this was a planned piece of
dis-information to ratchet up the pressure on Iran ??

Read some article on this same list not too long ago, probably in the Politics Forum.

The "kill list" has been a major part of Obama's foreign policy. Just do a search on it. The NYT wrote about it a couple of times. I thought it was a good idea, even when Clinton was doing it. Now I am not so sure. The first problem was that some American citizens got on the list and were assassinated. They probably deserved it but strongly feel we should not kill citizens without due process.

Even though the targeted assassinations has slowed down our muslim enemies, that is all it has done. It is obvious now that Al Queda and other groups are still very strong and rapidly taking over in many parts of the world. The kill list does not deter or kill enough. The enemy has adapted too.

This kill list is for countries not individuals.

SandyD thanks for the speech. Nice to see this historical stuff.

It's not just the military industrial complex anymore.

Ike warns for misplaced power from unwarranted influence by those companies but there's UI from other angles. There's FED-Gov-FED route and big pharma lobbyists writing big parts of the legislation.

and 'We should take nothing for granted'...i think to many people do take a lot for granted.

The grand geopolitical game is much to complicated for most people and national economics is too so let's turn to easy issues like abortion. All the requirements of Obamacare (forgot the proper name, sorry) ae much more likely to interfere with your life but it's not an issue, nevermind what happens in faraway countries.

The kill list story is convincing. They're doing it with a lag.

Government...

Oh, wrong kill list.

So you are talking about what was once called the Bush Doctrine; the regime change of the "axis of evil" that the overachiever Obama has almost accomplished.

Cause Bush II was too slow.

Basically Gen. Clark is quoting a classified memo that states attack on:
Iraq
Afghanistan
Syria
Lebanon
Libya
Iran
Mali

And he mentions the hammer problem where you destroy the states to intimidate the terrorists but that nonsensical because you are just creating a new breeding ground for terrorists. The states were all sort of in the Russian camp so the agenda would be to make them your own client states which doesn't look too well.

Afghanistan got knocked of the list first over Osama.

If the mission was to spread democracy, great. I belief in equal chances. I rue for the creative young girls in Afghanistan. SO many lost chances. We made some difference but it's doubtful if it will last.

Then on to Iraq.

A big mess. Military victory easy but no planning for the follow up. Or neglect?
Really wonder about that one. Then they got stuck a bit.

Libya
Mali

I can't remember what actually triggered the Libyan uprising but there might have been some help. A lot of the unrest in the Middle East related to rising food prizes.

The bio-fuel laws could serve multiple purposes. Subsidize US farmers and drive up food prizes around the world.

When Libya fell Mali came along.

Now
Syria
Lebanon

are in play (they are a pair)
There's some connection to the Benghazi hit...

Iran

Economic warfare so far & impressive viral war & whoever is blowing up those scientists one at the time is doing pretty well.

The memo's pretty good imho.

My big question: Why, Ross? Who did you think was in control?
