Default Airing out the house?

When the **** is the weather going to get better so I can open out the house and give it a good airing?

Stupid weather!

I just want to be warm again. It's a lot cheaper here to cool than to heat.

Rain, Pote?

I'd like to open a few windows, as well, but we have snow squalls right now. My house stinks of roast beef and garlic. Range fan only does so much.

Heat off, coats on, open the windows for 15 minutes - air that sucker out!

Our place really holds cooking smells & that's what we have to do, although we don't resort to coats - a really warm sweater will do it.

Every chance we get we open the house up and air it out. It may only be for a few minutes but when the temps hit 60 we do it!! In with the good, out with the bad!!

It's currently 36 outside & the bedroom window is open about 4". Yes it's a tad nippy in the bedroom & when we go to bed, we'll only leave it open an inch or so. But we'll also have a stand fan on - go figure.

Neither one of us has ever liked a warm house - we find we get headaches & it gets stuffier faster. With 3 adults & 3 aging cats - fresh air is a good thing!

There are down sides. I'm sitting here wearing long johns under my jeans & it's a given that I have a fleecy hoody on over my turtleneck. Taking showers is an exercise in self discipline & a showcase of whimpering & whining.

I leave one window cracked 3 fingers wide open in the house year round. I only close it if rain/snow is blowing in, or if we are having too much wind. On top of that, the bathroom window is left open at least 30 min. after anyone showers, and I open one, or more windows when I wake up for at least 30 min.

We have spent our time in this home making it the most energy efficient as we can.

High SEER AC. Interior second windows. Extra attic insulation.

Every crack inside and outside has been caulked or foam sealed.

We get good bills but overtime, we have to breakdown and air it out.

But it can only be a few time a year when the weather allows it. Too cold/damp or blazing hot.

It was about 30F this morning. It was about 36F when I wrote the previous message.

Not so much rain but here it is a damp, dark cold. Very humid and for me the worse kind of cold.

Dog farts do collect over time. Ask me how I know.

Pote, that damp cold is part of the reason I left the Vancouver area.

I should have opened a window with the snow squalls. I woke up to -20. Forecast gives us at least a week of it. Winter is here.

I broke down and bought a large Ozone machine. Kills all the odors and germs in a couple hrs of running.
