Don't wrestle with a pig. The pig enjoys it and you get muddy.

.5 oz mini, total 1.4oz lol. I've started another single, already, to ply together. The cool thing is it makes a little yarn package that I don't have to wind off onto something else.

Nice consistent weight. I have a ton of fiber but just haven't had time this year.

You know that meme about your husband selling your craft supplies for what you told him you paid for it? Well, some man in South Florida was selling his deceased wife's stash on Craigslist for $30. All luxury fibers - cashmere, raw and processed silks, camel, Qiviut, merino, angora, blends. It must have cost hundreds. I was honest when I emailed him and told him that the bundle was worth much more than he was asking but he was just happy someone wanted to take it off his hands. That's sitting in a basket next to a few dozen pounds of roving that I already had...

Niiiice! I tend to spin really fine yarns too - and have several shawls to show for my efforts. What are you planning on making?

I'm going to attempt a two-ply, but first have maybe 1oz per ply (I got a .4 oz off this tiny guy) spit-join the singles together, then ply.

Plying is easy on a wheel but I find it difficult on a spindle. If you want a more evenly plied yarn, when you take your plied yarn off the spindle unwind it with a HUGE distance between the spindle and whatever you're using to wind the yarn. I go outside and let it run 40-50'. That gives the ply a chance to even out along the run of it.
