Kool Aid. Ha!

IN the south "nutritious" Kool Aid can have more sugar and calories than a sugared soft drink.

Like iced tea. Here, you better ask "sweetened" or "unsweetened".

OK, really doesn't help you.

Have you tried your own fruit infused tap water?

I did the soda to diet soda to flavored water (low cal squirt bottle thing) to plain water transition path.

When I put on, (for me), a fair amount of weight back in the fall I was delighted. I was also concerned that I'd put on a lot quickly - why? Turns out a large part of that was the 'discovery' of fruit punch flavoured drink crystals... I was drinking ridiculous amounts of it & it's got a lot of sugar. Between that 7 my increased chocolate consumption at the time... I had my answers.

Stevia is probably a better alternative to the chemically produced artificial sweeteners and it doesn't seem to provoke hot flashes like splenda does. I usually have the stevia sweetened zero waters on hand - they've become our new soda.

Default waiting waiting waiting

So everything has been turned in and now I am waiting for the insurance to say yes.... this could take up to a month I am 2 weeks into this wait and it is driving me crazy. I just wanna start and get this done.

The next step would be some tests blood work ect , then I need to go on a all liquid diet for 5 days. then I go under the knife.

I have some protein powder, but I will need sugar free jello, sugar free Popsicles, and water....This will be the hardest the 5 day liquid fast.

Supposedly a hard boiled egg will fill me up once surgery is done. this will be great

I am wondering what types of bloodwork I get to look forward to are they going to take a pint or what? anyone have any ideas? I go tomorrow and the said to fast. Im guessing the fasting is for a sugar level but I dont know about anything else.

this will be little hard cause I usually wake up at 3am and need a nibble.... oh damn I dont even know if I can drink water.... can I or no?

A 'fasting lab' is just that: No food for the prior 12 hours --- Generally that's why they prefer to schedule a fasting draw early morning and have the person eat nothing from midnight on.

Water, plain water is generally OK unless otherwise stated by the doctor. Why just water? Water isn't going to alter the lab results and being well hydrated makes it easier for you and the tech drawing the blood. A well hydrated persons' veins are easier to tap.

I'd assume your doctor would have explained what labs they're waiting and the reasons why. So, just a general guess is that a full panel, likely including thyroid, kidney function, lipids, etc ---

You have had blood work done before and or at prior times leading up to this procedure; right?

Good luck with your procedure!

one more week... then I have surgery on the 24th I am excited, nervous, and scared

I mean what if they fuck up? What if I get a leaker? or an infection?

they let you go home 24 hours after surgery Ill have 5 incisions to take care of with no stitches just steri-strips .

They gave me a bunch of instructions on what and how to eat for several weeks I keep reading it trying to commit it to memory its not working the hubby said he'd put it in the calendar. the man is so supportive!
