Default Where's George?

Go to http://www.wheresgeorge.com/ and read how you can track bills where ever they go.

From now on, I'll be keeping an eye on dollar bills I get!

I received a dollar bill one day that had the Where'sGeorge.com written on it. I put the info in and found out the very first person to enter that bill said they got it at a strip club in Nebraska. I don't know if it was a waitstaff, a bartender or a stripper that got it but it left my hand quickly and then I used so heavy duty cleaner t6o clean my hands.

Look on line for the science experiment for teens which shows what is on/growing on bills.

http://hubpages.com/hub/Dirty-Money-Germs-on-Currency

Quote:
In 1972 a study in the Journal of the American Medical Association studied bacteria from 200 coins and bills and found harmful germs like fecal bacteria and Staphylococcus aureus on 13 percent of coins and 42 percent of notes. The study concluded: "Money is truly dirty."

Found this when Googling "germs on currency"

Of all the bills I've entered, only two ever got reported back to Where's George.

One was a single, the other a 20. Neither of them travelled more than about 100 miles, and only the single got more than one hit. It went from my location to a truck stop in Reno, and from there to Las Vegas.., The 20 showed up in Sacramento.

I always save them and the next time I travel, like overseas, I drop them off.

I knew a fella in Ann Arbor, Michigan that was very involved with WheresGeorge.com He had a business there and all over the walls of his establishment were maps.Maps of the US and the others of the world. On these maps he had hundreds of pushpins all color coded for the denomination of bills, as well as certain ones for his own bills that he was tracking. It was so interesting! This was a few years ago, when a friend met him online and had a brief relationship. The relationship fizzled and he has moved away but I still enter an occasional bill. The farthest a bill of mine has traveled was to Philly, and one received was from Atlanta.

I got one in St. Croix, and found it had originated in New York City. It hasn't traveled too far yet, I suspect -- I gave it to Grandson#1 yesterday when he picked up a gallon of milk at the 7-11.

Where's George kind of petered out when they stopped selling the stamps.

Now you have to order one from a 3rd party or one of your sources.

Kind of a hassle unless you are really into it.
