Talking The precious critters thread

To sort of help balance out the 'evil critters' thread

Smile for the camera! Adorable baby brush-tailed rock wallabies emerge from their mothers' pouches to capture hearts at Sydney's Taronga Zoo

Two tiny brush-tailed rock wallaby joeys have joined an Australian zoo

Sydney's Taronga Zoo successfully bred the joey's in captivity

A female joey and another whose gender remains unknown were born

There are now 15 species of rock wallabies in Australia

The Australian government classified the species as endangered in 1995

So here's an owl wearing a hat.

In the late spring, when all the windows were open in the house an ENORMOUS fly was buzzing around the bathroom, being a terrible nuisance. I walked into the room and on the mirror (therefore, it was reflected and looked twice as big!) was a giant black hairy spider that had caught that huge fly. Naturally I screamed and ran running from the room. Both the spider and the fly disappeared to parts unknown (well, not exactly, I know where the fly ended up) but wishful thinking has me hoping that the spider crawled back out the window.

Went looking to see what kind of a spider it actually was since we have them all over the garden! If it wasn't a spider, it would actually be kind of pretty, though it certainly doesn't fall into the "cloyingly cute" category! It's a non venomous jumping spider and it was black and sort of florescent green like this one:

It looks like an Australian "jumping spider" . They have no need of a web as they can jump so well they catch all their food in "mid air"........... not poisonous
