Don't wrestle with a pig. The pig enjoys it and you get muddy.

Default Pet Rock

Two days ago, DD#3 told me there was a huge turtle on her utility porch. She tried to pick him up but he was way too heavy. So she put vegetables out for him and that made him happy. He doesn't mind people but he really likes the dog and follows him all over.

She posted on Facebook. One of her friends found a sign in his neighborhood, about a mile away from DD#3. She called, and the artist who owns the beastie is on his way to pick him up.

How does one lose such a BIG turtle?

WOW!!!

What an incredibly cool tortoise!!!

Must have been well cared for and part of a family, for it not to not fear humans, know they will feed him and like dogs.

How does such a huge turtle get so far & not be noticed?

Not a clue. Then again we regularly have 6' long alligators roaming the streets without being noticed.

His owner didn't pick him up yet. She's incorporating him into her decor as a footstool.

Darned near the perfect pet, really!

Quiet, pretty low maintenance, not demanding and doubles as a footstool

Russian tortoise? We had one that followed me all over the house. When I was in the kitchen cooking, she'd come over and park between my feet.

Hmmm... large enough tortoise & you'd have a handy stool that follows you around.
