Took a look at 2010:

https://www.wunderground.com/blog/Je...her-since-1816

among other interesting events:

Quote:
Earth's hottest year on record
Unprecedented heat scorched the Earth's surface in 2010, tying 2005 for the warmest year since accurate records began in the late 1800s. Temperatures in Earth's lower atmosphere also tied for warmest year on record, according to independent satellite measurements. Earth's 2010 record warmth was unusual because it occurred during the deepest solar energy minimum since satellite measurements of the sun began in the 1970s. Unofficially, nineteen nations (plus the the U.K.'s Ascension Island) set all-time extreme heat records in 2010. This includes Asia's hottest reliably measured temperature of all-time, the remarkable 128.3°F (53.5°C) in Pakistan in May 2010. This measurement is also the hottest undisputed temperature anywhere on the planet except for in Death Valley, California (two hotter official records, at Al Azizia, Libya in 1922, and Tirat, Zvi Israel in 1942, have ample reasons to be disputed.) The countries that experienced all-time extreme highs in 2010 constituted over 20% of Earth's land surface area.

Damn it Andy, why didn't you tell me?!? I just put in 18 tomato plants, you could have saved me a LOT of time and effort if you had informed me earlier.

Don't wrestle with a pig. The pig enjoys it and you get muddy.

Son , baby and pregnant wife have to take a long flight back from
the USA soon . I am a little trouble by the amount of radiation exposure .

But he said pregnant women should think about how much they were flying.

"Any dose is potentially damaging," he said. But he added that researchers didn't
know how much radiation would cause problems in developing foetuses.

Is this a high-latitude/polar flight?

Ross, I think about that a lot. My brother flies back and forth to work in Alberta, every 10 days. What with Mom dying from Melanoma....

Still not optimal, but better than those long polar routes.

It might last longer than that. I am reading about the effects the last one had on Europe. I am thinking about buying land here in Florida - good investment for us tin-hatters.

Love this: Ask 7 experts and get 12 different answers.

I think more money should be spent on getting ready for an unstoppable climate change and less on trying to stop it. To those trying to stop global warming I say stand in front a freight train and try to stop it.
Instead of putting up solar panels build a house super insulated that resists both heat and cold. Solar panels are going to be worthless with 2 ft of snow on them.
