I was going to take my little buddy to the flea market this weekend for his first big all day outing around unfamiliar territory, strangers and unpredictable noises but now with the HHS statement on H7N9 I am wondering if I should. I don't want to do something that could put him in harms way but I really don't want to lose this short window of opportunity either.

Those things they do that make us laugh.
I handed Jake a piece of raw brussel sprout. He grabbed it, muttered something under his breath yelled poop and threw that brussel sprout on the floor.
Cheeky little brat. He is mad because I put a stop to his sugar snap pea destruction frenzy. He took a bite out of every pod from a 1/2 pound bag.

So Jake learned to say want peanut and now sounds like he is arguing with himself because often times it is immediately followed by want pork chop. He will say want peanut in one tone and want pork chop in another. He will say it over and over, sometimes peanut is louder and sometimes its pork chop. I darn near wet my pants when I first heard it.
We have finally found the song that relaxes Jake and will tame even the worst tantrum. When he hears this song he will climb on top of the closest knee, listen intently, start to sway and close his eyes. It is like he is in a trance. When it is over he is usually calm as calm can be.

He does have an odd taste in music. Some Pink Floyd, Genesis - Suppers Ready and the Beach Boys Kokomo are his favorites. He runs to me and hides when the SO puts on Kiss. He favors male singers over females.

Those are from when the SO and I had the flu. Jake does several different ones and it represents the progression of our symptoms. lol

Jake is a happy boy. Tonight he had pork chops. He cleaned off 3 bones and is now in a food induced coma. He finished eating, took a drink and settled in for a snooze. He is so stuffed he doesn't want to move. Usually he will hang with one of us in the evenings but tonight he just wants to be left alone on his cage.
