Default Kmart is closing 64 stores and firing thousands across 28 states as the company continues to lose money

Sears Holdings announced yesterday it will close an additional 68 Kmarts and 10 Sears over the next few months
The closures are on top of the 50 stores that were announced were closing in February
The company has closed almost 10 per cent of its stores since financial troubles began

We only have one left in our county. I have to admit its so out of the way, I never go there unless I happen to be going by there and need something. But their selection has got worse and worse over the years. Pretty soon it will be RIP. WalMart kills another one.

We lost Kmart in Canada years ago. Interesting that you bring up Sears, because what you posted above now applies to our Sears. It isn't Walmart doing them in, though, it is SEARS. Doesn't a hedge fund run it now? It's being stripped bare.

Once it's gone, Walmart will be our only option in a city of 75,000.

I don't go to the K-Mart that is just a few blocks from us because it's dirty feeling. The one on the other side of town is too.

It has been years since I've been in a K-Mart. I think the one in Gainesville is still open, but I long ago stopped shopping there.

Sears has been drifting away as well unless it's appliances or something. I suppose it's because I'm in the "middle age zone" but I can't find a store in the area that carries clothes I want to wear.

I have to go to ours. My son's insurance will only cover prescriptions there, or a town that is a half hour drive. They are terrible. I have never had a pharmacy "lose" prescriptions. It seems that he is always running out of pills a few days early. Years ago I had this problem at a Kroger's pharmacy. They caught the guy working there stealing meds. They are only open ten to five, and there is always a long wait time.
It has gotten so that they aren't even turning on the lights or using air conditioning. That's not a good sign. I hate the thought of having to drive to another town three or four times a month just to get meds.

I rarely go to KMart because they are expensive. It is cheaper to get items like soap or shampoo from the grocery store. I was there a few weeks ago because I needed a few things and walked out with nothing. Painters sheet plastic, none on the shelf. Blue tarps, none on the shelf. Grill cleaner, none on the shelf. Nail file $4.99 for 2 emery boards or $14.99 for a metal one, to expensive. Black socks, none on the shelf.

Flowerchild, can you use mail-order pharmacies? We can get maintenance meds 3 months at a time through Kaiser's mail-order partners.

About being shorted, the only suggestion I have is to dump the bottles in front of them and count every pill before you leave the counter.

If they do close, I will definitely check into that.
