Default Self-Feeding Log Fire Lasts for Over 14 Hours

Self-Feeding Log Fire Lasts for Over 14 Hours

Published on Sep 27, 2016

Texas outdoor enthusiast Bob Hansler has heard and seen a lot about ‘self-feeding’ fires, but he had never seen a practical demonstration before he made this video. He set up his logs in a careful and measured way, taking into account the airflow, the angle and other factors. After explaining his set-up, he checked in every hour to see how the fire was going. Wish I could make that work in a greenhouse in the winter.

I saw this in a book last month and thought it was really cool. It is gravity fed. No witchcraft or Motorola Microprocessors needed.

The one I saw was more of a traditional "V" shape with the fire at the bottom of the two legs.
