Thumbs up 8 scary viewing platforms

This has some neat pictures. I'd love to see those places...except Chicago.

The NZ Sky Walk looks like fun but I might have
nightmares for the rest of my life ( if I survived ) .

I started climbing the steps at Chichen Itza once. Doesn't really look like much, does it?

What you can't see is that each of those steps is only about half as big as my foot. Only the toes and ball of my foot would fit...the back of the foot is just hanging there in the air. Those folks must have had itsy bitsy little feet!

And the pitch of those stairs is very misleading. Going up doesn't seem that bad, but at some point, everyone gives in to the temptation to look back down, and holy shit!

Unless you sit on your butt and scoot down, which I did, you face the same small step problem. Only going down, the question becomes: which half of my foot do I put on the step? Neither one was right, as far as I was concerned. Only my fat butt gave me enough confidence to get back down to the ground safely.

Others took the side step down option, but that required too much visual focus in the down direction for my tolerance.
