I would say fairly low. My one caveat was that the CDC was very quick to put Mali on the list of countries that they are screening on arrival. I think they think that its still unclear how bad the problem is in Mali.

Looks like a NY case is negative, will remain in isolation pending a second confirming result. Also, there was also a low-risk suspect case in Missouri (was not on my radar) that has initially tested negative also.

It's long, but both interesting and pathetic at the same time.

U.S. health-care worker exposed to Ebola arrives in Nebraska for observation

By Niraj Chokshi January 4 at 1:15 PM

A U.S. health-care worker exposed to the Ebola virus in Sierra Leone arrived at a Nebraska hospital on Sunday for observation and potential treatment.

The patient, who has not been identified, arrived at the Nebraska Medical Center’s Biocontainment Unit mid-afternoon.

“Even though the patient hasn’t had a positive test for Ebola, all of our team members are taking the same precautions that were taken with the first three patients who did have Ebola,” spokesman Taylor Wilson said. “It’s out of an abundance of caution that this approach is being used.”

Possible Ebola patient at UC Davis Medical Center

A person has been checked into UC Davis Medical Center with symptoms consistent with Ebola, the hospital announced in a statement Thursday.

The person was transferred to the hospital Thursday morning from Mercy General Hospital in Sacramento, said UC Davis Medical Center spokeswoman Dorsey Griffith.

The hospital could determine if the patient has Ebola by the end of the day Thursday, she said.

Low likelihood, but it made the news, so...

North Texas ER Patient Tested for 'Ebola-Like Symptoms'

Published at 8:35 PM CST on Nov 28, 2015

VA North Texas says a patient with symptoms similar to Ebola Virus Disease was seen at its emergency room Saturday afternoon.

The hospital activated its Serious Infectious Threat Response protocol and consulted with the Centers for Disease Control for a preliminary assessment, said Froy Garza, VA North Texas spokesperson.

Preliminary testing showed the patient was at an extremely low risk for Ebola, Garza said. The patient, who was not identified, was placed into isolation.

Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins told NBC DFW the patient does not have Ebola.

The hospital plans to transfer the patient to a designated Ebola assessment facility as a precaution.
