Post Different Uses For Rarely Used Items

I ran across some interesting ideas in a few decor magazines recently. Here was one I liked:

Cake & pastry trays - they often sit jammed into china cabinets & only get pulled out for holidays & fancy family feasts. Be they 1 or 2 tiered, they can come in handy in the bathroom to hold makeup & various toiletries. I can see the practicality of that - if you have one that matches any bathroom decor you might have, that could consolidate all of one or more types of bathroom stuff in one corner. If you need to wipe the counter - just lifet the whole thing, wipe, replace... done!

I put long items, brushes, scissors and the like, into short vases on the counter in the bathroom and the kitchen. I also buy baskets on clearance and use those to hold bunches of stuff or to put things in them for gifts.

Many of us have 'fancy' china or other specialiszed 'foodware' for want of a better term & it tends to languish at the back of cupboards, top shelves, etc. Take a look at what you have & see if you can display it by using it as storage when it's not serving its main purpose. I like Feather's idea.

Napkin rings are excellent for keeping necklaces and bracelets from turning into a jumbled mess.

So are snack size zip baggies. That's how I store the jewelry I have for selling on e-Bay.
